Sun conjunct Descendant is the same as Sun opposite Ascendant. The Descendant is the cusp of your 7th house, the relationship house. When someone's Sun lands there, coupling up feels natural, easy, like you're both on the same page about wanting to be together.
This is a very magnetic and strong aspect in synastry. Not all Suns hitting your Descendant will make you feel this way. Other contacts bring you together. But when this aspect is there, it's powerful.
This aspect shows up constantly in long-term relationships. Any personal planet conjunct the Descendant creates a "this could be it" feeling, but especially the luminaries (Sun and Moon) or Venus. It's not just attraction. It's actual, practical consideration of the other person as the perfect mate. Inner pull toward their qualities. Strong resonance that screams "the one."
Having another person's Sun in your 7th house is also very prominent, even if it's not conjunct the Descendant. Sun anywhere in the 7th creates that "we belong together" feeling, the sense that you're complementary opposites who fit. If the conjunction is from the 6th house side, I'd measure a conjunction for up to about 6 degrees.
For the Descendant person, the Sun person embodies exactly what they've been looking for. The confidence, the self-expression, the whole package. It's recognition. "You're what I need to feel whole."
For the Sun person, the Descendant person feels like the perfect match. There's a magnetic pull. The Descendant person mirrors something back that makes the Sun person feel seen, admired, like their best self.
Both feel it. That's why coupling up happens naturally, not forced. You both want the relationship.
This aspect creates a sense of completion. You feel balanced together, like you've found your counterpart. The bond forms quickly and is hard to break, even when things get difficult. There's mutual respect and admiration. The Sun person inspires the Descendant person to be more authentic. The Descendant person helps the Sun person understand themselves within partnership. You grow together.
There could be a challenge if the Descendant person idealizes the Sun person, projecting 'perfect partner' fantasies that reality can't match. But the pull stays strong regardless.
Even when there's friction, the magnetic pull stays strong. You keep coming back.
This aspect creates relationships where both people feel they've found "the one." Not because it's always easy, but because the connection feels inevitable, fated, like you're supposed to be together. The attraction is rooted in identity, partnership, and balance.
Sometimes it's just resonance, though. What can we do. You feel it, they feel it, and it still might not work out for reasons that have nothing to do with the aspect. But when it works, you shine together.
